Government ID Verification
You deserve to feel confident about who you're meeting. Whether you're a parent looking for care or a sitter seeking families, ID verification is required before members can send or reply to messages.
Optional: Certificado de Antecedentes Penales
We want to give you as much information as possible about the members you meet on Babysits. One way we do that is by letting members in Peru voluntarily add a "Certificado de Antecedentes Penales".

Learn more about babysitters and parents by reading references and reviews from other community members.
Message screening
Our messaging service automatically screens for fraud and suspicious behaviour.
Profile Verifications
Babysitters and parents can confirm an email address, a phone number, or link other online profiles. You can check each user's profile to see which details have been confirmed.
Community Standards
Babysits has a set of community standards that all members are expected to follow. By signing up, members agree to these standards and to the terms of service.

Inspect profiles and users carefully
Be cautious with profiles that have poor descriptions, no clear preferences, or show suspicious behavior. Report any concerns using the report button on their profile.
Keep personal information secret
Never share personal ID documents, your address, email, phone number, or financial information with anyone you meet online.
Have an introductory meeting prior to the first appointment
Always meet in a public place before your first babysitting appointment.
Check references and certificates
Before scheduling an appointment, check reviews and references, and ask to see copies of any relevant childcare certificates.

We encourage members to report anyone who violates our community standards. We review every report we receive.
Popular questions about safety
ID verification is required before any member can send or reply to messages, so anyone you exchange messages with has completed it. Members can also choose to add a criminal record check, which is optional. Every profile shows which checks have been completed, so you can see this before you get in touch. 🛡️
If you encounter a member who violates our Terms and Conditions or Community Standards, we'd like to hear from you. You can use the report button on their profile or reach out to our customer support directly. Our team will investigate and take appropriate action. While the member may be notified that a report was made, we do not share your identity with them. Your help in maintaining our community's safety is greatly appreciated. 🛡️
In many countries, members can optionally add a criminal record document to their profile. We always recommend families ask babysitters for any available documents, and conduct their own due diligence before hiring.
We use a multi-layered approach, including ID verification, user reviews and references, secure messaging, and proactive screening for suspicious behaviour. These measures reduce risk but cannot remove it. We encourage all users to conduct interviews, check references and certificates themselves, and meet in public places before confirming any babysitting job.

These measures cannot guarantee that another member is suitable for you or that every interaction will be safe. Babysits does not verify all information provided by members. Use your own judgement, ask questions, verify certificates and qualifications yourself, and meet the babysitter beforehand to make sure you feel comfortable.
